PreSchool Family

Spots available for the fall in our Baby, Toddler and Stay & Play classes.

Click here to register for the 2022-2023 school year.

We are offering two Stay & Play Classes this year. Our 3 year old Stay & Play class meets on Monday, Wednesday & Friday. Our 4 year old Stay & Play class meets on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.

The Stay and Play classes give parents extra time and space to build community by sharing lunch together and give the kids 2 extra hours of unstructured, supervised play time together.  Stay and Play day is always everyone’s favorite day of the week. At the end of the year parents have learned and shared a lot about parenting, have formed a close community, and have some great recipes from around the world to try themselves.

Sign up for a tour here or sign up to chat with one of our teachers.

Join us for a tour on August 20 and 26.

Our Program

PreSchool Family is a parent education program serving families with children ages birth through five years. The program began in 1946 and is part of the Palo Alto Adult School under the auspices of the Palo Alto Unified School District (you do not need to be a resident of Palo Alto to attend PSF). The program is designed to offer parents an opportunity to learn about parenting and to actively participate in their child's education. For children, the program offers a developmentally appropriate, play-based, educational experience.

Our Mission

To serve parents and young children in a way that nurtures, respects and educates each individual in a developmentally appropriate environment in order to build strong families and communities.

Our Philosophy

PreSchool Family serves parents and young children in a way that nurtures, respects and educates each individual in a developmentally appropriate environment. Our program welcomes preschool children from all families, cultures, and religions. Each child and parent is treated with respect for their individuality and unique potential.
